I am an experienced Phonics teacher, who has recently started teaching Phonics to ESL preschoolers. I quickly discovered that a lot of my resources were unsuitable for children who do not have English as their first language, and at the same time I needed to adapt lessons to be taught remotely. I plan to share resources that I currently use. If you see anything that you would like to use, but with different sounds then please contact me and I will try my best to produce an adapted version.

Are you looking for an activity for your class to complete at the start of the school year? Or perhaps a new student is joining your class and you would like to get to know their likes and dislikes. I actually used this worksheet with my class at the beginning of the school year and then again at the start of term 2. It was useful to note differences in friendship groups, how likes and dislikes change. This “All About Me” worksheet has space for your student to record: Name Birthday Age A picture of themself Family Friends Pets Hobbies Favourite Colour Favourite Food Favourite Book Favourite Subject *There are four versions of the worksheet and you will get all four. The worksheets are designed to used in schools that use British or American English, and for all ages from Reception (preK) to Year 6 (grade 5) US English with blank face to help your students to draw themselves US English with a blank box where your student can draw their face or whole body UK English with blank face UK English with a blank box The boxes have been left unlined so that you or the student can choose whether to write or draw The boxes also have visual clues to help students that are not yet reading or ESL students who need extra support. I hope your students enjoy completing this fun activity as much as mine did.
